About Strukwerk
Strukwerk or “S-Werk” for short, is an exercise in watch design. Established in 2021, the project aimed to explore the extents to which its creator could realize his ambitions of creating his own watch. The project turned to micro-brand after garnering immense moral support of the founder’s family, friends, and fellow jewellers and craftsmen. Strukwerk produces a limited number of watches yearly, mainly to satisfy our own artistic pursuits, but also to support our existing product line, as well as bespoke clients.
Strukwerk wristwatches are designed and prototyped independently in Vienna, Austria. Each watch begins as an attempt to capture an elusive feeling of euphoria, that we then try to describe through what surrounds us, as we inch closer to a design. Through modern tools such as 3D modelling and rapid prototyping, we are able to address the many engineering challenges that come with watch design. Structural components are cast from metals via lost-wax casting, and finished by hand. Movements from renown Swiss and Japanese manufacturers are employed depending on model requirements and the future owner’s preference. Every dial is hand-painted and finished, no two dials are the same. Rigorous usability and performance testing helps us ensure our watches run well, age gracefully, and are easily maintained. The final result is a wristwatch the serves as a tribute to watchmaking, a monument to time, and a gentle reprise of excitement.
